Change is coming! Davis will soon implement new standards for Facilitator websites consistent with our transition to new branding and messaging.
Social Media is such a fast-growing area that it’s hard for us to keep up.
Please just follow these simple guidelines if you are setting up a page or section devoted to promoting your business (as opposed to a personal page):
- Please let us know about your new business-oriented page by emailing us a link at webmaster@dyslexia.com (Pre-approval is NOT required)
- If you reference the Davis program or your status as a Davis Facilitator, please find a way to include a Davis trademark notice. It is acceptable to use an abbreviated form of notice, as long as it conveys that Davis® is a protected trademark, and that only licensed providers can offer Davis based services. The best place for this notice is an “about” or “profile” section if provided; that is, in the same place where you can describe who you are, you can add the notice.
- Please also include your own name in the “about” or “profile” section of your social media page.
- Please include a link either to www.dyslexia.com or to the relevant Davis Dyslexia page for the particular page you have set up. That is, for example, if your page is on Facebook, you can link to the Davis Dyslexia facebook page. Here’s a list of our currently active social media accounts:
- Facebook: facebook.com/DavisDyslexia
- Instagram: instagram.com/davisdyslexia
- LinkedIn: linkedin.com/company/ddai
- YouTube: youtube.com/DavisDyslexia
- For more information about Facebook business pages, please see the section here: web.davis.info/facebook
- The website link (URL) or title of your social media page should NOT include “Davis” or other Davis trademarks. It is acceptable to refer to your status as a facilitator in a subtitle. See Acceptable Domain Names for more information.
- You do not need prior approval from DDAI to create a page devoted to your practice on a social media website, but you should be ready to promptly correct or remove material if DDAI or your DDA affiliate notifies you of any problems or issues.
P.S. We would love to see pictures of your lovely kids, grandkids, cats, dogs, vacation destinations, etc. — but you don’t have to tell us about your personal pages. If you want to keep your personal life separate from business, that’s fine. The above guidelines are only for use of social media as a way of promoting your practice.
