Change is coming! Davis will soon implement new standards for Facilitator websites consistent with our transition to new branding and messaging.
We encourage Licensees to use the DDAI logo and Davis trademarks to identify themselves and the quality standards they have attained. The following guidelines explain the standards for their proper use.
(1) Use of Trademarks: All Licensees may use the Davis name, DDAI logo and trademarks as detailed below to identify themselves or their business, and in written descriptions of the Davis methods. The symbols TM or ® identify these as trademarks, and must be included at least once per document or advertisement. Because a registration mark® signifies completion of legal registration procedures in each jurisdiction, it can only be used as approved on specific words and phrases. The letters TM signify a trademark in use that has not yet been legally registered. As an alternative to TM, it is also acceptable to use the letters SM, which stands for Service Mark, a special kind of trademark used to identify services such as counseling, therapy, or education.
From time to time, these trademarks are subject to change from “in use” (TM) to registered ®.

(2) Business Name Subtitle: Licensed Davis Facilitators may use the name Davis in a subtitle in smaller print after a business or individual name, and the other various trademarks, as shown in the following examples:

(3) Primary Business Name: The name “Davis” may not be used as part of the main business name pursuant to the DDAI Licensing and Certification Agreement. The reason the Davis name cannot be used in a main business name is that DDAI does not license or certify institutions or businesses; it only certifies and licenses individuals as Davis Facilitators and Specialists.
(4) Web Domain Name (URL): The name “Davis” cannot be part of a web domain name used for Facilitator web sites. Facilitators should refrain from registering domains which include the trademarked word “Davis” and are prohibited from using such domains for promotional purposes related to their individual practices. Use of the name “Davis” in a domain name for group sites (such as a facilitator’s association) requires advance written approval and a separate license agreement with DDAI.
(5) Website or Social Media Title: The name “Davis” may not be part of the main title of a website or a social media page. You may use “Davis” in a subtitle for a site or page that is devoted exclusively to your Davis practice.
(6) Licensees may use the authorized DDAI logos to identify only themselves, not their entire center, school, employer or business, unless it is a private practice owned and run solely by the Licensee. The words “licensed and certified by Davis Dyslexia Association International” must be legible and appear under the logo in English or in the appropriate language of the Licensee’s country of business operation. On letterhead and business cards the logo should be no larger than one inch wide or 2.5 cm.
(7) Licensees must request approval of all proposed commercial uses of the above trademarks, to DDAI or a DDA-affiliate in their country, prior to printing or distribution. “Commercial uses” includes business cards, stationery, flyers, brochures, price lists, newsletters, lecture announcements, signs, and any form of advertising including the Internet. Changes or additions to such materials or uses must also be submitted for prior approval. Please allow ten working days for approval.
(8) Licensees who wish to use the trademarks or Davis name for purposes other than those listed above should send a written proposal, with artwork or examples if available, to DDAI or a Davis Dyslexia Association in their country requesting written permission.
(9) Licensees who have existing advertisements or printed material on hand that do not meet the above criteria should contact DDAI or a DDA in their country to discuss guidelines and time limits for making these changes. If approval was already granted by DDAI based on previous guidelines, changes should be made in the next printing to fit these present guidelines. If approval was not granted prior to printing or production, changes may need to made immediately.
(10) Promotional materials which describe professional services and programs provided by a Licensee, or a Licensee’s colleague or associate, that are not related to the Davis program or methods, and which also mention or describe the Davis program or methods, must clearly distinguish the different programs by including the following statement in the appropriate language:
“The Davis Dyslexia Correction® program, and [NAME OF OTHER PROGRAM] are separate and distinct programs which are provided in their own distinct contexts, on separate schedules, and with separate fees.”

- SOI (Structure of Intellect®), FastForWord®, Lindamood-Bell®, NLP® (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), Edu-K®, Edu-Therapeutics®, Kumon Math
- Slingerland, Orton-Gillingham, Wilson Reading
- Tomatis, Auditory Integration Therapy
- Test Preparation and Tutoring
- Speech Therapy, Vision Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Kinesiology, Art Therapy
- Nutritional consulting, biofeedback, hypnotherapy, psychotherapy, holistic health practices.
DDAI is very open to questions, suggestions and personal requests from Licensees about the use of our trademarks. We are especially sensitive to cultural, legal or social differences which Licensees need to honor in their respective countries.
