Policy for Internet Listings

  Internet Advertising & Listings

Change is coming! Davis will soon implement new standards for Facilitator websites consistent with our transition to new branding and messaging.

You can promote your services more widely by listing your practice in various internet directories. Like all advertising, any listings which reference your licensing status as a Davis® provider should be submitted to webmaster@dyslexia.com for approval.

Requirements for Pre-Approval of Basic Listings: You do not need to obtain prior approval for an internet listing if the following requirements are met:

  1. Your listing includes only general demographic data: Your listing will not need prior approval if it includes only your name and contact information (address, email, phone), and a general list of the services you offer. You may list that you offer correction or educational services for dyslexia, dysgraphia (handwriting), dyspraxia, ADD/ADHD,, dyscalculia (mathematics), or learning differences / learning disabilities. You may refer to specific Davis programs by name.
    • Note: You may not advertise services for Asperger’s or Autism unless you have met the requirements for licensing as a Davis Autism Approach Facilitator/Coach.
  2. Any Descriptive Text was Already Approved If you have specific descriptive text related to Davis methods or services, it is identical to text that has already been approved by DDAI for use on your web site or in a brochure or other promotional material.
  3. Your listing contains a link to a website. If the listing service allows links, please include a link to either
    • Your own web site, if it has been approved by DDAI and is already included with your  listing on the Davis Provider site, or
    • If you do not have an approved web site, a link to one or more of the following web sites:
  4. Your listing includes a trademark notice: If the listing service provides space for it, please include a trademark notice. For purposes of listings, to conserve space, a shortened notice is acceptable. Example:

Professional services described as Davis® or Davis Dyslexia Correction®, may only be provided by persons who are trained and licensed as Davis Facilitators by Davis Dyslexia Association International.

If you do not have space for a trademark notice with your listing, please make sure that the first use of the word “Davis” in your listing includes an appropriate registration mark ® or ™; and include a reference to the fact that you are licensed by DDAI. For example:

    • Your Name, Licensed Davis® Dyslexia Correction Facilitator, or

    • Your Name, Davis® Dyslexia Correction Facilitator (DDAI license no #______)

Even though pre-approval is not required for a listing, please do notify webmaster@dyslexia.com when you have placed any online  listing. If you have any questions about compliance, please feel free to ask questions or seek pre-approval.

Descriptive Listings: If your listing will include descriptive text, beyond basic contact information and a summary of the type of services you offer, please keep the above requirements in mind. When your listing is ready, please send the proposed text to webmaster@dyslexia.com for approval.
